Elsie my 3rd born
This sweet 4 year old is such a joy! I feel so grateful that she's my daughter! She is truly a light and a big girly girl. She smiles at everything and she wants to do the right thing all the time. She was most definitely my hardest baby though. Since a very very small baby she wouldn't let anyone hold her expect me or she would cry. She had a very hard time with strangers and she clung to me like a magnet. It was purely exhausting! I felt like we both had a magnet and we were hooked together at all times. She would let her Dad watch her sometimes but most of the time she wanted her Mom! I loved all the snuggles and I loved spending that time with her but it got very overwhelming and exhausting. I felt like I was loosing my sense of self worth. Like all I was good for was feeding a baby, holding a baby, and trying to survive being a Mother of 3 so far from family and without much help from anyone around me. I also didn't have very many friends. Honestly that was probably in part my fault but I'm learning that I truly only need a few close friends.
Now this sweet 4 year old is such a joy! I will truly miss her when she goes off to school. I should have another year with her home but she really wants to do preschool. The only issue I have is in the old state where we are living now they do pre-k in the school system for free. It's just part of school. In our new state they don't have pre-k in schools, if you want your kids going to a preschool you pay for it. It often is super expensive too. So like this last year, I'm going to try and find woman who would be willing to do a co-op and just do it that way. We will see what comes of that when we get there.
She is doing ballet right now and loves it. She has asked me a thousand times when her recital is. She will be performing next week on a big stage in front of a lot of people but she is so excited. I think it's so great for her too cause she's pretty shy most of the time. She has the cutest little costume and she will truly be the star of the show.
She has somewhat of a lisp and has a hard time saying her s's, t's and r's. I hope as she goes to school she will be able to figure all that out.
Sometimes I feel this girl is wise beyond her years. About 1 year ago I was nursing her baby sister so I started asking her all kinds of questions. What's your favorite color, what is your favorite food, what is your favorite thing to do with Mom, what is your favorite kind of ice cream, things like that. She answered all my questions and then without any prompting from me she turned around and asked me all the same questions she just answered. It was amazing. She really cares about others and there feelings. She is a pretty calm and mellow kid for the most part, at least for my girls. She listens very closely when I'm talking and she pays attention to things that my other kids just don't. She notices when someone is down and she wants to cheer them up.
I'm so grateful God sent this beautiful angel to my life! She is such a huge blessing! She is one of a kind for sure. I truly believe she will do wonderful things in her life and the God has amazing plans for this sweet spirit. I just hope I can teach her all that God wants her to know from me. I hope I can live up to the privilege it is to be this girls Mom!
